What skills and experience we're looking for
The Assistant Principal: Pastoral Care will be vital in ensuring we have a high quality learning environment for all students that attend the College. You will have knowledge and experience of leading on student behaviour, improving attendance and demanding the highest standards of quality first teaching for those students with SEND. You will be an experienced and talented classroom practitioner able to build positive relationships with students and their families. This role would be suitable for someone looking for a challenging and rewarding promotion to have a substantial impact on the outcomes for all students.
A key part of this position will be leading and managing cultural change. You will be prepared to challenge how things have been done before in a relentless pursuit of excellence. Innovation and flexibility will be essential, as will coaching and empowering staff to be at the centre of improvement. The Assistant Principal will have a remit across different aspects of inclusion and will need to work with other leaders to ensure a coherent strategy is developed where all students feel they belong. Working alongside SEND, Attendance, Alternative Provision and Teaching and Learning teams will be required to deliver success.
