DESCRIPTION
Here at Amazon, we are currently looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join the team and play a critical role in managing health and safety within the Amazon Fulfillment Centre (FC).
The successful candidate will identify, coordinate, and drive improvements in inbound safety, quality, and productivity, working with the Operations Management teams to continuously improve the functionality and level of service that the Fulfillment Centre provides to our customers.
Key job responsibilities
You will be managing aspects of output in your area: people management, metrics, productivity targets, and process improvements. The extent of your duties will include:
1. Managing the health and safety function at the FC, including supervision of staff to ensure delivery of objectives.
2. Proactively engaging in collaborative health and safety projects across all operations sites.
3. Providing authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within the designated area of responsibility.
4. Reviewing and auditing arrangements for health & safety management and continuously improving these arrangements where appropriate.
5. Providing strategies to plan and organise work systems to reduce health & safety risks, recommending, and implementing mitigations and processes.
6. Ensuring robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety metrics.
7. Providing management information and statistics related to your area of responsibility.
8. Supporting business change through effective change management processes within the fast-paced FC environment.
9. Driving a behavioural culture change programme across a large, complex, multi-shift operation.
10. Implementation and review of company global safety policies ensuring that local HSE requirements are met.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education to a degree level and additional qualifications to an NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level.
2. Relevant experience managing a team.
3. Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
4. Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Lean, 5S, and Kaizen experience.
2. Environmental qualification/experience an advantage.
