You will work closely with statutory agencies, our local communities, and the voluntary sector to address current and emerging priorities such as crime reduction and community safety. The Role As the Communities Strategic Lead, you will manage a dedicated team addressing and influencing the city’s response to community safety. You will develop strategies and initiatives, liaising with local and regional partners to ensure Wolverhampton meets its statutory obligations. You will also be responsible for managing Community and Voluntary Sector contracts and promoting collaboration between the council and these sectors to deliver positive change. Key responsibilities include: Leading on strategy development and implementation Managing the city's response to community safety; supporting vulnerable communities and reducing the perception of crime Managing key relationships with voluntary and community organisations to support the sector and build capacity Developing and maintaining relationships with external partners and stakeholders Leading on project management, from planning to implementation, including monitoring KPIs and ensuring the successful delivery of initiatives Contract management Lead on continued roll-out of 'Love Your Community', Wolverhampton's approach to resident engagement, co-production and local problem solving What We Are Looking For To succeed in this role, you will need: A relevant degree or equivalent experience in community safety and community engagement. Considerable experience in strategy development, project management and partnership working Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
