We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Maths Teacher to join a specialist Alternative Provision / PRU in Romford. This full-time, contract position provides an opportunity to make a significant impact on students who benefit from a tailored approach to learning in a non-mainstream setting.
As a Maths Teacher in this provision, you will deliver engaging and accessible lessons, ensuring students develop their numeracy skills and gain confidence in mathematics. The ideal candidate will be committed to making maths relevant and meaningful, helping students overcome barriers to learning and succeed academically.
This role is perfect for a teacher who thrives in a dynamic and supportive environment. While experience in alternative provision or working with students with additional needs is desirable, it is not essential, as professional development opportunities are available.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated maths lessons suited to students’ individual learning needs.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes resilience and confidence in numeracy.
* Develop strategies to engage students who may have previously struggled with education.
* Work closely with colleagues, support staff, and external professionals to enhance student outcomes.
* Assess and track student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary to ensure success.
* Promote positive behaviour management and student engagement.
* Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A strong knowledge of the maths curriculum, including functional skills.
* Experience in an Alternative Provision, PRU, or with students requiring additional support is desirable but not essential.
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* A passion for supporting students through a personalised and inclusive approach to learning.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
