Main duties of the job
We currently have a vacancy for Band 6 CPNs due to exciting service development & expansion. This provides an opportunity for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse/Community Psychiatric Nurse to support and further develop our expanding Crisis Home Treatment Team. The post holder will work with a full Multi-Disciplinary Team to develop and provide a range of support to patients and their relatives. The successful candidates will need to be able to work effectively at a range of levels and situations. The post holder will require enthusiasm for service development and the ability to work with a complex and changing service; therefore, excellent communication and leadership skills are required.
Sandwell Crisis Home Treatment Team provides a service to a diverse multi-cultural population. The service is committed to delivering high quality safe care to service users with acute mental health symptoms. The team provides intensive levels of support to prevent hospital admissions and to facilitate early discharge. The service currently operates 24/7 365 days a year; therefore, nightshifts, weekends, and bank holidays will be part of the shift pattern.

Person Specification
Essential
* Education/Qualification: RMN, current registration, evidence of continued development
* Experience: managing acute mental illness, previous B5 post, case management, strong clinical leadership, audit processes, MDT working, supervision
* Knowledge: Mental Health Act, Mental Health/Diagnosis, Risk Assessment, Capacity/DolS/Infection Control
* Skills/Personal Qualities: Interpersonal skills, willingness for professional development, ability to manage emergency situations, self-motivated
