The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Forensic Examiner to join our fantastic team at our site based in the Midlands. As a Forensic Examiner, you will be responsible for the examination of exhibits for blood, semen, saliva, cellular material, and the recovery of contingency evidence. The candidate will be expected to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as defined strategies from the Reporting Officer. Shift work, on-call working, and bank holiday cover will be a requirement of the Examiner upon completing the required training.
Security Clearance
Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, applicants should note that security clearance is required for this role. To gain security clearance, you must have five years continuous residency in the UK. Security clearance is undertaken by a third party to police personnel vetting standards (NPPV/3 and SC), as such any criminal convictions may prevent you from gaining security clearance. In addition, all successful applicants will be required to undertake drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out a variety of examinations of exhibits to standard operating procedure requirements and required turnaround times. You will also be accountable for maintaining set KPIs and competencies.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate good organisational skills and attention to detail along with previous laboratory experience (preferable but not essential), is highly motivated, enthusiastic, and possesses the competence and team spirit to support others and contribute to a positive culture.
