Freelance Bid Manager – Civils (Contract – Outside IR35) Location: 2 days per week in Wiltshire, 3 days remote We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager with a strong background in civils projects to lead the technical, quality, and commercial aspects of a high-value (£500m) bid. This role is with a main contractor and requires a hands-on approach to ensure the bid is developed accurately and submitted successfully. Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate all bid management activities, including kick-off meetings, progress reviews, quality checks, and final settlement. Develop, maintain, and implement the bid programme, ensuring key milestones are met. Compile and submit corporate governance documents and present them as required. Manage proposal and review teams to produce high-quality responses within required timeframes. Oversee technical teams and suppliers, ensuring accurate methods and offers inform the programme and estimate. Ensure accuracy and consistency throughout the bid development process. Requirements: ✅ Civils experience is essential. ✅ Proven track record managing high-value (£500m) bids. ✅ Strong understanding of technical, quality, and commercial bid elements. ✅ Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders. ✅ Excellent organisational and communication skills. ✅ Experience working with main contractors on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
