Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As a clinical research nurse the post holder will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways of critical care patients participating in clinical trials. It will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of trial participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data. The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of trial protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with the local, national and international research regulations.
This will require a methodical and structured approach with attention to detail and accuracy. However, part of this role will be in research promotion and engagement, which will require creativity and innovation. We are always exploring ways of inspiring and empowering clinical staff to play an active role in research with the aim of embedding research into clinical practice. Therefore this role can be really diverse and we are looking for someone who is adaptable.
The role is mainly in the critical care unit and in the Research & Innovation office, and a good level of IT skills is essential.

* Nurse on the NMC register with at least 1 year of experience
Desirable criteria
* Good clinical practice
Knowledge

* Knowledge of UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Care, Medicines for Human Use Regulations, Good Clinical Practice and the Health Research Authority (HRA)
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of research delivery
Experience

* Practicing as a nurse in the UK for 2 years
* Experience of working in NHS setting or other substantial research environment

* Experience of undertaking clinical research
