About the Employer
I am the employer and daughter to my mother who has been allocated a direct payment to support her with her evening routine each weekday following her return from the day centre. My mother has a diagnosis of Dementia and PPA (Primary progressive aphasia) which affects her language and communication We are seeking a PA to provide my mother with some personal care, assistance with feeding and preparing her for bed each mid week evening.. The PA would also be required at to prepare her evening meal, offer companionship as well as support with the daily tasks. My mother enjoys the company of others and has a good sense of humour. She has limited communication but can guide those around her to communicate what she wants or needs. The support will also grant me a break from my caring role and an opportunity for my mother to build and extend her support network with someone other than a family member. We are seeking someone to assist and support in my mother with the following tasks:
• Meet and greet from day Centre transport and entry into the home
• Prepare her evening meal
• Assist with feeding
• Assist with toileting and dressing for bed
• Providing companionship
• General household duties (tidying from meal times etc.)
• My mothers’ needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

About the Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.
You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

When you are Required:
Hours per week: 7 hrs per week. Monday to Friday, Mon- Friday 4-5pm meet my mother from day centre transport and assist into her home Evening support Some flexibility may be required. Details will be discussed and agreed in advance between the employee and employer.
