Health, Safety & Environment Technologist
Location: High Wycombe (with occasional travel to HQ in London)
Hybrid Working: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Health, Safety & Environment Technologist to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Safety, Quality, Environment & Security (SQSE), you’ll play a key role in supporting multiple client sites by providing expert health, safety, and environmental guidance. A significant part of your role will involve handling administrative tasks related to employer liability claims.
You’ll help implement policies, drive continuous improvement, and support internal audits. Your work will contribute to accident prevention, incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Claims Management: Handle all workplace liability claims, ensuring timely communication and accurate documentation in insurance systems.
2. System Administration: Act as the main administrator for business software related to health & safety.
3. Expert Guidance: Stay updated on health, safety, and environmental matters to provide valuable advice to site teams.
4. Compliance & Continuous Improvement: Assist in enhancing site health & safety management systems and ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and external standards.
5. Incident Management: Support investigations into accidents, complaints, and environmental incidents, helping identify solutions to prevent recurrence.
6. Risk Assessment & Training: Assist in developing risk assessments and providing relevant training to site teams.
7. Audits & Reporting: Support both internal and external audits, compile performance data, and represent sites in discussions with regulatory authorities.
What You’ll Need
* NEBOSH Certificate (or working towards it)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Analytical mindset with a proactive approach
* Excellent team player with great communication skills
* Self-motivated with a drive to achieve results
* Familiarity with ISO 14001 / OHSAS 45001
* Understanding of risk assessment processes
* Knowledge of health & safety laws
* Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent
You may be asked to complete Psychometric and Aptitude Tests as part of the selection process.
