Salary: G10 £42,403 - £47,420 (pay award pending)
Contract: Full time, 37 hours, permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the locality-based teams within Adult Social Care, Walsall. The ideal candidates will already have demonstrated competence with supporting staff and a commitment to their continued professional development with a post qualifying qualification as a BIA, Practice Educator or AMHP.
Your role would be to support the Team Manager to deliver the day to day practice of the team and improve outcomes for Adults in Walsall whilst ensuring that all staff operate in a manner consistent with legislation, the Councils policies, Service specific standards and the Social Work England Code of Practice. You'll facilitate practice improvement and development within the team through high quality consistent reflective supervision and appraisal for a small group of staff including professional mentoring to drive up quality standards.
We have a great opportunity for Advanced Practitioners to complement our existing Walsall Council Adult Locality Teams.

The team is made up of a Team Manager, Advanced Practitioners, Social Workers, Social Care Facilitators, Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants, with a wealth of experience amongst us.
We undertake assessments, support planning and reviews under the Care Act 2014, working closely with Health partners, Commissioners, and other external agencies to provide a holistic approach to supporting individuals.
We work to a strengths-based and risk enabling model to achieve great outcomes and independence for the people we support.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed professional, to help shape and deliver our service ideally qualified as an AMHP, BIA or Practice Educator with experience of supervising and supporting staff.
The successful applicant will be ready to support the Team Manager to deliver the day-to-day oversight and support of the team, and to improve outcomes for the adults of Walsall known to our team. You will be responsible for supporting staff to deliver the best outcomes, while ensuring they operate in a manner consistent with legislation, the council's policies, service specific standards and the Social Work England Code of Practice.
You will contribute and facilitate practice improvement and development within the team for:
1. delivering strengths-based assessments,
2. supporting planning and reviews under the Care Act 2014
3. Risk Assessments
4. Mental Capacity Assessments; and
5. Adult Safeguarding Enquiries.
You will be confident in setting the standards for Social Work practice and approaches to assessment, be able to demonstrate dynamic problem solving, by leading and developing the behaviours of team members. The right person will possess a ‘can do’ approach that is focused on continuous professional improvement and is measured by improved outcomes for the people of Walsall.
