You will play a key role in providing high-quality engineering solutions to ensure our electrical assets (HV Traction Power & LV Distribution) are safe, reliable, and maintained to the highest standards. The role will offer you lots of variety and no day will be the same, as you look for root causes and finding alternative solutions, making recommendations of ways we can improve and implement engineering changes that align to KeolisAmey Metrolink (KAM) delivery plan. Support the delivery of projects to deliver maintenance activities and asset renewal/enhancement. It’s key regular audits are performed, and our assets are well maintained to ensure we drive performance and efficiencies to keep our Trams flowing on the network and our customers moving around Greater Manchester. So, If you would love to join the team within Manchester’s iconic Metrolink, what are you waiting for, we can’t wait to hear from you Key accountabilities will include: Act as a subject matter expert for HV Traction Power and LV Distribution engineering and maintenance. Drive the development and implementation of systemic, lasting and positive engineering change focussed on electrical distribution asset reliability and maintenance efficiency. Review and improve E&M maintenance regime and develop Manuals, Technical Maintenance Specifications, Annual Maintenance Plan, Maintenance Task Instructions, Corrective Technical Specifications, Forms, etc. Develop tools and procedures for implementing reliable and risk based maintenance. Review of electrical safe systems of work. Undertake investigations into technical and safety incidents, establishing root causes and making recommendations. Design and produce maintenance documentation e.g. task instructions, forms, specifications. Produce engineering documentation e.g. reports, proposals, change requests, concessions to standards Produce safety documentation e.g. method statements, risk assessments, possession plans. Technical audit of E&M maintenance activities and undertake safety audits. Investigation of asset failures and analysis of root causes Investigation of safety incidents and analysis of root causes Champion health, safety, wellbeing and embed the zero harm principles and just culture in all ways of working. Support renewals and enhancements proposals in partnership with TfGM Asset Engineers. Create working partnerships and collaboration with other engineering teams to work on joint projects. Mentor colleagues who are developing in the engineering space, including graduates and apprentices. Support and develop KAM engineering competence regime for electrical asset group.
