Manufacturing Engineer
Attewell Limited is a leading parts manufacturer that is currently improving and expanding processes to remain competitive within the aerospace manufacturing sector; providing shim solutions directly to aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus, Boeing, and Bombardier, as well as manufacturing complex machined and fabricated parts.
A vacancy has arisen for a fixed term 12-month contract manufacturing engineer to join the technical engineering team. This role will be in primary support of the manufacturing engineering function assisting in the delivery of new projects and improvement of existing manufacturing processes.
This role will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Main duties:
* Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods and continuous learning
* Improves manufacturing efficiency by analysing workflow, space requirements and equipment layouts
* Provides engineering information and supports other departments by answering questions and requests
* Assists and participates in new and emerging manufacturing projects
* Provide necessary support to the special processes section to maintain continuous improvement
* Maintains product and process data through data entry and computer programmes
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge
Essential:
* Degree qualified or equivalent in engineering or similar field of study, preferable Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
* At least two years’ experience within an aerospace production environment
* Good understanding of general manufacturing processes such as, fabrication, CNC machining and assembly processes, etc
* Understanding of engineering drawings and tooling concepts
Desirable:
* ERP experience (Preferably using SAP)
* Knowledge of CAD systems and an understanding of CADCAM processes
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced) and Word

* Well organized and have excellent communication (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure and willing to work additional hours to complete the job
* Creative and innovative thinking
Other details: 37.5hrs/week, Monday to Friday, 12-month fixed term contract
