Site Manager Required as soon as possible Full time all year round Permanent Salary Grade E point 13-19 (£26,873-£29,777 FTE per annum) An exciting opportunity has arisen at Lawn Primary School for a Site Manager to join our welcoming school. We are looking for a hardworking, friendly, and dedicated person with a range of practical skills. Someone who would like to be able to make a difference to our school community with a particular focus on maintaining our school site and keeping it safe and clean. The successful candidate will have high standards and expectations, take pride in their work, be proactive and must also be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. There is a need to also respond and react to daily demands as well as to be able to plan ahead. The role will be varied and will include day to day responsibility for maintenance, security, health and safety and general administration of the school site, its grounds, buildings, facilities, and equipment as well as liaising with contractors. The successful candidate will have a good level of IT, literacy and numeracy skills as accurate records need to be kept. An understanding of health and safety and security will be needed or there should be a willingness to learn. You will be supported with a thorough induction and training program to enable you to build an understanding of the day-to-day tasks that take place. Main Responsibilities are: • To be responsible for ongoing maintenance and operation of heating, lighting and boiler plant/equipment, ensuring all faults are reported and dealt with in a timely fashion. • To assist with planning/overseeing all minor building works and repairs including obtaining quotes, liaising with suppliers, overseeing contractors and monitoring service level agreements. • To report on progress and provide advice to the head teacher/facilities manager on all minor building works and repairs. • To assume delegated responsibility for ensuring compliance to statutory regulations relating to, for example asbestos, PAT and legionella testing, health and safety and to undertake risk assessments. • To be responsible for maintaining site records relating to, for example, health and safety, risk assessments, fire and alarm monitoring and asbestos. • To be responsible for the security of the school premises and its contents. • To be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of cleaning and assistant site manager staff, ensuring standards of cleanliness are maintained. • To undertake an element of cleaning on a daily basis. • To attend school premises in cases of emergency e.g., intruders, fire, floods etc. The successful candidate will be friendly, have good communication skills as well as the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs and different personalities of the children.
