We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Accommodation Services Officer to join a team until May 2025.
The pay rates for this role are:
1. £18.66 PAYE
2. £23.80 Umbrella rate
The role involves managing the day-to-day supply of emergency accommodation for households in urgent need, coordinating nominations for longer-term temporary housing, and facilitating direct lets within the private rented sector.
Additionally, the role includes the collection, delivery, storage, and disposal of property owned by homeless households.
The officer will be responsible for managing customer rent accounts, income recovery, and arrears collection, while ensuring the verification of accounts. A key aspect of this role is working closely with the housing benefits service to ensure the optimal take-up of benefits for households in hotels, emergency accommodation, private licensed, and privately managed accommodation schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate emergency accommodation placements for households in urgent housing need.
2. Support nominations to longer-term temporary accommodation.
3. Manage direct lets in the private rented sector.
4. Handle the collection, storage, and disposal of property owned by homeless households.
5. Oversee customer rent accounts and arrears recovery.
6. Collaborate with the housing benefits service to maximise benefit uptake.
