Contracts Manager
Salary: £35-£40,000 DOE
We have a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on grounds maintenance Contracts Manager to join an award-winning company to help grow our friendly, close-knit team, managing the day-to-day running of contracts within Greater London.
Job Outline: You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of contracts within Greater London via a diverse range of work streams, including grounds maintenance, soft landscape installations, living walls, irrigation systems, water features & ponds, through to Christmas installations. This is a key and highly varied role, linking between staff, clients, and the Director, which requires a personable approach and practical, previous experience of contract/operational leadership in a related sector.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Lead and motivate staff to full potential and to management plans and objectives.
2. Conduct staff appraisals and development opportunities for team members.
3. Write method statements and risk assessments.
4. Plan and implement daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules.
5. Implement, check, and maintain health and safety standards.
6. Assist with budget preparation for:
* Staff salaries, temps, and sub-contractors.
* Tools, staff training, uniform, PPE etc.
* Contract income and additional works.
1. Perform maintenance checks and ensure safe use of company vehicles and equipment.
2. Assist with identification for new business and additional works.
3. Handle electronic and phone enquiries.
4. Conduct regular site visits and client meetings to ensure standards are high and clients are satisfied.
Key Knowledge and Experience Required:
* Two years’ experience as a team-leader/manager or contract supervisor within a similar environment.
* PA1, PA6a certificate.
* NVQ 4 certificate in Amenity Horticulture - in work training considered.
* Health and Safety training.
Key Skills and Abilities:
* Flexible approach with excellent interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills.
* Willingness to work alongside the team - the hands-on aspect is integral.
* Able to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of customer service.
* Sound horticultural knowledge to identify problems and instigate solutions.
* Ability to plan and problem-solve day-to-day issues, with a can-do attitude.
* Knowledge of administrative and MS Office software, particularly Excel.
* Full clean driving licence.
