South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family-owned and managed care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex.
We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex with 411 beds, offering the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours a day for long and short-term stays.
Reporting to the Home Manager, this role involves working with an experienced clinical team carrying out planned, proactive, and reactive clinical duties. The team is committed to providing professional, respectful, and quality care within a safe home environment.
This is a hands-on role, and appropriate experience and relevant qualifications are of paramount importance, as is the commitment to provide a first-class service to all of our residents.
Working within our award-winning nursing home Pentlands in Worthing, this is a part-time role:
Monday - 8am - 2pm
Tuesday - 8am - 8pm
Alternate Sunday - 8am - 8pm
Job Responsibilities:
* Maintain high standards of patient care ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all residents.
* Champion patient choice and autonomy, ensuring that all staff work in a dignified and respectful manner.
* Support and assist in managing the whole care team when on duty, collaborating with colleagues to ensure excellent resident care and communication.
* Foster relationships with families, advocates, and next of kin, keeping them informed of all changes to residents’ physical and emotional well-being.
* Complete all documentation in a comprehensive, concise, and timely manner, including the generation of individualized care plans that must be reviewed and amended as residents' needs change.
* Order, store, administer, and manage medication according to legal, professional, and company policies and procedures.
Skills, Qualifications, and Knowledge:
* Experience in a nursing role.
* A Nursing degree or above.
* Registered with the NMC with a current active PIN.
* Able to prioritize tasks to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
* Good reporting skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
* Some experience in managing teams.
* Previous clinical experience in geriatric, frailty, end of life, and dementia care.
