DDFI are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us as an Accountancy Apprentice. As an Accountancy Apprentice you will embark on a comprehensive training program designed to develop your skills and knowledge in various aspects of accountancy.
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (30 Minute unpaid lunch)
Duration: 1 year
Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
Retail and hospitality:
* Price per square foot analysis on concessions and own buy departments
* Gross Margin reports and investigate any low margins across all SKU’s and Departments
* Weekly Sales report to managers and board
* Analysis of stock to include wastage and any breakages
* Maintaining Fixed Asset Register
* Involvement in stock control and perform perpetual cycle counts by supplier with analysis of variances
* VAT returns
* Gain an understanding of all day-to-day accounting processes over time, to include; Bank Reconciliations and Cash Book
* Payroll
* Suspense accounts reconciliation
* Cover for cash office when necessary
Other group companies:
* Elements of the above
* Labour and Time Sheets for working hours
* Analysis of Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR’s) and margin reporting on jobs

Course contents
* Record transactional data.
* Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
* Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
* Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
* Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods.
* Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
* Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

GCSE in:
* Maths (grade 4)
