We are looking for an inspirational and dedicated Year 5/6 Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming team at a wonderful school in Norwich. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to play a key role in Upper Key Stage 2, helping pupils develop their confidence, independence, and academic success as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. As a Year 5/6 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and engaging curriculum, supporting pupils through challenging yet rewarding learning experiences, and preparing Year 6 pupils for SATs in a nurturing and structured way. This role is for September 2025. Duties of a Year 5/6 Teacher: Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the KS2 National Curriculum. Preparing Year 6 pupils for their SATs, ensuring a balanced and supportive approach. Encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning. Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development. Using assessment data to track progress and inform teaching strategies. Creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that supports all learners, including SEND and EAL pupils. Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance pupil outcomes. Taking part in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities. Ideal Year 5/6 Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, particularly Year 5 or 6 (desirable but not essential for ECTs). A strong understanding of end-of-KS2 expectations and SATs preparation. A passion for engaging and inspiring young learners. Strong classroom management skills and high expectations for behaviour.
