We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead the delivery of expert Osteoporosis and Fracture Liaison Care within the Rheumatology services across our Trust. You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality Osteoporosis/Fracture Liaison Care within the Rheumatology services throughout the trust. The Fracture Liaison Service will provide clinical assessment and advice promoting best practice in expert care to patients at risk or diagnosed with osteoporosis or who have fallen and/or fractured. Main duties of the job You will work alongside clinical colleagues to provide expert care, treatment and support for this patient group. You will advance the body of knowledge through education, research and audit as well as developing this new service. Working as part of the wider MDT, the key requirements of the job will be to ensure patients are seen in a seamless and timely manner, ensuring a coordinated approach that is in line with national guidelines. You will inspire and motivate others to be aware of bone health in the hope to improve and prevent further fractures. The post holder will promote excellence in nursing practice through the integration of expert clinical practice, education, and consultancy. They will act as a resource to patients and colleagues and will be committed to utilising nursing research. The post holder will develop and deliver a specialist nursing service and will provide a link to all other associated hospital and community services. The CNS is required to contribute to the specialist multidisciplinary team As this is a new service to Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust, you will also be expected to assist and lead in formulation and implementation of service policies and service operating procedures.
