About the role
We are on the lookout for a Merchandising Planning Manager to join our Dine team on a 9 month fixed term contract. We are looking for someone who will be able to plan and ensure the delivery of great merchandising for the department. You will balance exceptional delivery for customers on what matters and engage teams and colleagues with the needs of the business. You will also be able to develop your team of Assistant Merchandise Planners.
You will be responsible for
* Building customer/ market insight led ranges for my department with buying colleagues.
* Owning departmental range building process (working with SRD), ensuring the best range to meet customer and Tesco’s needs (inc. maximising sales, profit density and space) always looking for opportunities and identifying gaps.
* Ensuring the ranging process (inc. range changes) for my department adheres to the critical path, meets customer needs. Contributing to the post launch review process.
* Delivering my part in the category trade and events plan (and associated sales, markdown, and margin targets), adapting the plan in response to market changes.
* Working with buying! suppliers to confirm department capacity requirements and order management critical path.
* Managing departmental Weekly Sales & Stock Intake (WSSI), addressing gaps between forecast and budget and highlight risks and opportunities.
* Creating exit plans to clear stock (inc. markdowns) in line with CAYG guidelines whilst optimising profitability.
* Overseeing Monday Trade Reporting and linked meetings! next step actioning in response to trading conditions including changes to weekly pricing/ markdown.
* Developing and leading a high performing team, giving them the opportunities to be their best.
* Forecasting and managing my budgets effectively, always being cost conscious.
* Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
