The scope of this role is for the International Markets & Emerging Markets and this role will be based in the UK. The role will be under direct supervision of the Senior Director Medical Education, Sports Medicine & ENT and involves partnering with the Sr. Director & other relevant team members on the design and implementation of the medical education strategy for the ENT businesses. The role will make sure that we are offering pioneering educational experiences across the educational continuum in-line with our BU strategy ensuring safe and effective adoption of S&N products and technology. What will you be doing? Responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of educational programs across IM & EM including all the regional & flagship medical education programs for ENT with practicing surgeons, nurses, residents, fellows, or other related Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) relative to key focus areas. The individual in this role will work closely with the BU marketing teams across the region and clusters to assess the learning needs of the organization’s customers and then develop suitable Medical Education programmes aimed at addressing these needs. The role will also measure the performance of the programmes through post course survey, critical metric Dashboard and customer feedback. Leads by example through consistent engagement and relationship building with S&N faculty, societies, and internal customers. Communicates closely with peers from the international & emerging region, ENT commercial team, Global Content Development, Professional Affairs, DLP, Meeting planners and Clinical Education, ensuring that these functions are engaged with those that can positively impact the success of the medical education plan. As an IM & EM leader, this role will also be a part of the ENT Med ed LT to whom they will report regularly about the performance of the medical education activities and team performance. Essential Functions: Partner with key team members to develop the strategic direction and operational roadmap for ENT Medical Education with ownership for driving strategy & course delivery excellence within EM & IM markets. Liaise with the Program manager’s teams in country regarding the countries’ training needs for the business and ensure strategic meded plan & execution. Ensure that the medical education activities follow the Smith and Nephew’s global and local compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Prepare and control the budgets for the local delivery of the medical education training activities. Assure all new capabilities are implemented by the Program managers in their medical education strategies to assure a blended learning and omni-channel approach aligned to the Global Med Ed vision. Identify key societies with whom S&N may create medical education partnerships. Collaborate with internal & external partners to ensure all programs align with local and global regulatory guidelines and internal compliance policies. Oversee faculty contracts through approved systems (e.g., ENGAGE). Apply Instructional Systems Design guideline such as the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to build effective training and skills-based programs that are aligned with franchise strategy, business needs and specific regional compliance and approved products. Design and facilitate customized education programs for Healthcare Professionals (HCP) to support HCP’s on their learning pathway from awareness to adoption and excellence Regional and National Society partnerships: Plan, organize and participate in society meetings, forums, symposia, educational and scientific programming meetings for promoting product and procedural awareness. Managing the learning pathways to ensure customers receive the right type of education best suited to addressing their learning needs. Drive innovation in learning; enhancing opportunities for blended, flexible learning solutions that truly meet the needs of our customers in a changing, fast paced environment. Lead in the provision of the local electronic content from the medical education activities for the S&N Global learning portal (SN Academy Online) Assure hands on skill training is mainly driven at our SN Academies. Responsible for the creation, updating and the promotion of the Medical Education calendars of all the medical education activities. Tracking of the Medical Education spend for all ENT IM and EM activities. Partnering with the local Professional Relations specialists on all service agreements for the key educational leaders in the country. Lead required reviews with PR to gain awareness of contract status, faculty engagement and early identification of issues. Assuring the logistics related to courses including registrations, course information and post course evaluation data analysis and reporting is completed in a timely manner and accurate. Subject Matter Expert: Maintaining up to date technical knowledge of current and new SN therapies and technologies as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the ENT healthcare market. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of clinical studies and practice guidelines to consistently support SN product advantages. Building relationships with cross-functional teams including but not limited to commercial, reimbursement, sales and marketing. Communicates effectively and professionally regarding portfolio performance and recommendations of business strategies with Senior Leadership Team, cross functionally and cross franchise. What will you need to be successful? Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, Science or related area; Medical and/or scientific and professional education or marketing emphasis preferred. 10 years' experience: Demonstrated ability to drive therapy implementation through education initiatives. Experience working in a variety of delivery methods such as digital learning, classroom, virtual and blended learning. Strong presentation skills. Highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers Skills and Competencies Ability to adapt and respond to internal & external customer needs. Solid understanding of the US healthcare system. Ability to develop and incorproate clinical education to various learner groups (clinical and non-clinical). Pragmatic problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills. Strong program/project management skills and attention to detail (planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management and implementation). Personal integrity.
