Electrical Test Installation Engineer
Our client, a rapidly growing leader in the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) market, renowned for their cutting-edge solutions, is going through a period of sustained growth. They are now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Test & Commissioning Engineer who is responsible for ensuring that Connected Energy’s products and R&D prototypes are installed, connected, and commissioned safely and compliant with all industry standards, legislation, and our own high standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with on-site Health & Safety and Site Acceptance Testing.
2. Collaborate with Installations, Hardware Design, and Software Controls teams to align on product functionality and test requirements.
3. Identify and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and performance.
4. Assemble and validate electromechanical prototypes to ensure functionality and quality.
5. Provide feedback to Design Engineers to improve design concepts and efficiency.
6. Maintain documentation for prototypes and assembly requirements.
7. Create RAMS and site reports, identifying hazards and ensuring safe execution of tasks.
8. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and commissioning procedures.
9. Perform visual inspections and document site/system conditions, ensuring follow-up actions.
10. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including isolating, testing, fault-finding, and reporting.
11. Perform mechanical maintenance (e.g., cleaning filters, sealing weather strips).
12. Support software team with controller programming and display screen interrogation.
13. Ensure all work follows industry standards and internal procedures.
14. Be prepared for regular site visits and occasional overnight stays.
15. Work with LV AC/DC systems, inverters, wiring, electronics, HVAC, and safety systems.
Requirements:
1. Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant industry experience.
2. Understanding of electro-mechanical and electronic principles and components.
3. Experience conducting risk assessments and commissioning electrical systems.
4. Computer literate and able to work independently.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and interpersonal abilities.
6. Team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
7. Willingness to travel nationwide and occasionally abroad; valid UK manual driving license preferred.
8. Ideally up to 3 years of Electrical Engineering experience in a similar industry.
