Are you an experienced pharmacist with a passion for surgery looking to progress in your career and improve your leadership skills whilst also maintaining a patient-facing role? We have the job for you! We are expanding our clinical senior team and are looking for a motivated and dynamic pharmacist to provide clinical expertise and leadership to our surgical specialties. This will include general surgery, upper GI, colorectal, gynaecology, urology, ENT, and day surgery. You will be instrumental in developing pharmacy services and mentoring our pharmacists on their foundation pathway. The post holder will work closely with our Lead pharmacist- Orthopaedics, burns, and plastics to provide a high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy service to our Surgery division.
This role attracts a £2,000 RRP payment alongside the Band 8a salary and we can also offer a relocation allowance.
Main duties of the job
The pharmacist we are looking for will be a strong clinician, organised, hardworking and dedicated with great communication skills and a passion for education and training. You will need to have a Postgraduate Clinical Diploma (or equivalent experience) and ideally be a current non-medical prescriber or willing to work towards the qualification. The role will focus on providing a high-quality clinical pharmacy service within surgery, expanding and improving our services whilst also working to develop our foundation and trainee pharmacist workforce. You will also be supported by a large established team of ward-based clinical pharmacy technicians.
We are a super friendly team with a passion for delivering excellent patient care. We have a bright and airy department with a large tearoom and access to outdoor open spaces to improve wellbeing. Our service is open 7 days a week and our current opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm (with no late night rota), Saturday 9am-1pm, and Sunday 9.30am-1pm. Weekend shifts are 1 in 8 with one bank holiday per year.
