The Family Advice Caseworker role is funded for 4 years by the National Lottery Community Fund under the Reaching Communities/Partnerships programme, to deliver high quality advice and support to outreach clients with a family (children up to the age of 19, or 25 if they have additional needs), to deal with their financial and other social welfare issues.
We are looking for an experienced adviser with good communication and IT skills to support clients in improving their financial health and wellbeing. A commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service is essential.
The primary purpose of the project is to help clients address and resolve issues affecting their quality of life and that of their family by providing one-to-one advice appointments. Clients will often be vulnerable and have complex enquiries. You will deliver advice and casework on a wide range of issues such as benefits, debt, housing, employment, family, and immigration. This will include interviewing and assisting clients with in-depth benefits checks, applications, and form completion (such as disability benefit forms and SEN forms), money management, and negotiating with third parties.
Your role will also include developing and expanding our Family Service across the area, so you must be able to work confidently and collaboratively with partner agencies and be prepared to move around different venues across the north of Cheshire East.
