Purchasing Assistant
Location: Newcastle-Under-Lyme
Hours: Monday to Friday - 8am - 3pm
Salary: £22,000.00
Job type: 12 month fixed term contract
Role Overview:
Our client is seeking a motivated Purchasing Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop a career in procurement and supply chain management, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting in the preparation and processing of purchase orders for goods and services
* Communicating with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and confirm delivery dates
* Monitoring stock levels and reorder products as necessary to ensure continuous availability
* Tracking and maintaining records of all orders, deliveries, and supplier invoices
* Ensuring compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
* Supporting inventory management by assisting with stock checks and reporting discrepancies
* Assisting with the evaluation and selection of new suppliers or vendors
* Maintaining accurate files and documentation for audit purposes
* Working closely with other departments, such as finance and operations, to resolve any purchasing-related issues
* Providing general administrative support to the purchasing team as required
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Strong administration and customer service skills
* Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a high volume, fast-paced environment
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
* Full training will be provided
