Job summary The Appraisal and Revalidation Manager/Mortality Review Leadrole will play a key role in supporting the Chief Medical Officer/Responsible Officer and the Trust Lead for Medical Appraisals in managing and developing the appraisal and revalidation process for consultants and non-training doctors within the Trust. The post holder is also responsible for the coordination of the Trust's Mortality Structured Judgement Review (SJR) process, including the implementation and ongoing maintenance of administration systems in line with national guidance on Learning from Deaths programme, the Trust's standards and national policy, and supporting the Learning from Deaths Group (LfDG). In this role you will be expected to work autonomously and manage your own workload, driving changes in line with national requirements and managing projects and system developments. Main duties of the job Provide comprehensive, high-quality project management & support to the Chief Medical Officer and Trust Lead for Medical Appraisals relating to consultants & non-training medical staff appraisal and revalidation Support the Trust Lead for Medical Appraisals to develop a framework to improve the quality of the appraisal conversation, & enhance the appraisal and revalidation processes To manage registration of the cohort of consultants/doctors in the revalidation system, ensuring accurate monitoring of starters and leavers and registration To develop & maintain robust administrative systems to support medical appraisal and revalidation Trust wide. Provide training, advice and support for all doctors who have queries regarding their appraisal or revalidation Support specialty teams across the trust to ensure that mortalities are reviewed in a timely manner, in line with the Trust's standards (ref: Mortality management policy and procedure (learning from deaths) policy and procedure). Provide support to the Chair of the trust Learning from Deaths Group (LfDG) to prepare agendas and meeting materials for each monthly LfDG meeting To work collaboratively with clinicians, managers, Mortality Leads, Bereavement Team, Medical Examiner Service, etc. to ensure the smooth running and reporting of the mortality review process with in the Trust.
