This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a high-functioning community mental health recovery service covering the region of Epsom, Ewell & Banstead. The postholder will be working alongside another Consultant and will form part of a multidisciplinary team.
The CMHRS provides interventions to those suffering from longer-term mental health conditions within a recovery model framework. Jointly agreed Protocols and Care Pathways exist to ensure appropriate services for common conditions such as Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Eating Disorders, Post-Natal Depression, and Alcohol Dependence.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering consultant psychiatric input to patients referred to and accepted for treatment by the CMHRS in line with the agreed criteria and commissioned care pathways. The work will therefore involve the assessment and psychiatric treatment of patients either directly or through the supervision of other team members. The post holder will also be expected to provide clinical leadership to the CMHRS and to act as a consultant/advisor to the team in line with models of practice recognised under New Ways of Working, particularly with respect to patients whose mental health needs are complex and carry high risk.
