The Role
We are looking for an aspirational teacher of English to join our dynamic department in September 2025. TLR may be available for a suitably experienced candidate.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly successful English Department, which prides itself on high-quality teaching, strong resources, and a collaborative ethos. We deliver a rich and engaging KS3 curriculum designed to foster a love of language and literature, as well as the full range of KS4 English GCSEs. At KS5, students have the opportunity to study A-Levels in both English Literature and Film Studies.
Our mission is to empower students to learn from Literature, to understand the lessons of the past and apply them to build a better, stronger future. We emphasise the importance and relevance of what students study, equipping them with the skills to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage meaningfully with the ever changing world around them.

The UTC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake a DBS enhanced clearance for the UTC.
Effective from September 2022, KCSIE, paragraph 221, states as part of the shortlisting process schools and colleges should consider carrying out on-line searches, as part of the due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
