We have three exciting opportunities available:
40 hours per week, year-round (52 weeks per year)
17.5 hours per week, term time only (34 weeks per year)
17.5 hours per week, term time plus 5 additional weeks (39 weeks per year)
We are a prestigious independent boarding and day school for girls, offering a fully catered service for our pupils and staff, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, seven days a week. Additionally, we host numerous catered events and formal dinners throughout the year.
We are seeking reliable and organized Catering Assistants to join our friendly team. While previous experience in a similar catering role and knowledge of food hygiene standards are preferred, full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Exceptional Service:
Provide a welcoming and efficient food service to pupils and staff, ensuring a positive dining experience.
Greet and interact with pupils and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
Address any queries or special requests promptly and courteously.
Maintain Cleanliness:
Ensure that salad counters and serving areas are clean, well-stocked, and ready for each meal service.
Regularly check and replenish food items, utensils, and condiments.
Perform routine cleaning tasks, including wiping down surfaces, sweeping floors, and disposing of waste appropriately.
Assist in Food Preparation:
Support the kitchen team with food preparation tasks as needed, such as chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and assembling sandwiches.
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
Assist in the preparation of special dietary meals as required.
Collaborate with the Team:
Work alongside the kitchen staff and rotate through various areas of the catering operation, fostering a cooperative and dynamic work environment.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and procedures.
Adhere to Safety Standards:
Follow all food hygiene and Health & Safety regulations to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure proper handling of food and equipment.
Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
