We are looking to hire a Waste Supply Manager to support with large scale mobilisations and provide Waste subject matter expertise in the various sectors across Compass.
In this role you will help design the optimal end-to-end waste management process to deliver on the key metrics of cost, quality, and service. You will also support the sectors when tender bids are in process ensuring they are client focused and meet the brief.
Responsibilities:
* You will support the Commercial Director, Head of Environmental Supply Chain and SES (Non-Food) to develop and execute a long-term category strategy that delivers sustainable improvements in terms of cost, quality, service, and innovation.
* Identification and onboarding of potential new suppliers (both regional and national) that will enhance the Compass Waste and Environmental proposition.
* Ability to identify innovative and cost-effective waste solutions to GPO clients and suppliers. Developing relationships and visiting clients will be essential to understand the challenges faced and how Compass can deliver value and generate revenue growth within this sector.
* Ensure KPI's (at supplier, sector & site level) are in place and regularly reported and reviewed to ensure quality and service is maintained whilst ensuring Compass sector compliance to requirements.
* Develop and maintain long term pricing mechanisms across the category and supply base to drive sustainable competitive advantage.
* Help develop new revenue workstreams that can be delivered to suppliers and the GPO business.
* Evaluating bids with the Foodbuy SES (Non-Food) Procurement team and Sectors and making recommendations based on commercial, technical, supply and quality requirements, using your category expertise and knowledge.
* Support Sector queries relating to service, cost, quality, and innovation and make recommendations based on category expertise and knowledge.
* You will communicate industry trends across the business.
* Manage category / sector related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Experience required:
* Experience within the Waste Industry a must with at least 5 years' experience.
* Implicit understanding of the Waste industry and the different waste streams within it, how it operates regionally and nationally with a good network.
* Excellent commercial acumen who is comfortable working under pressure with challenging timelines.
* Proven capability of managing multiple suppliers and holding accountable to KPI's.
* Strong communication and presentation skills - able to communicate concisely and steer conversation towards decisions needed.
* Excellent negotiator.
* Ability to influence - not afraid to challenge across all levels of seniority (both internally and externally).
* Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Excel.
* Proven ability to reduce cost against tough market conditions for both Compass & clients.
* Problem solving - ability to work independently to solve challenging problems.
* Evidence of an ability to work cross-functionally.
* Ambitious high performer with excess enthusiasm, energy, passion, and resilience.
* Self-managing and self-motivated, ability to manage their own workload, diary and priorities.
