We are seeking an outstanding Director of Commerce to lead on Business Studies, Economics and Computer Science within our high performing Academy.

Harris City Academy Crystal Palace is a mixed Academy for 1,300 students aged 11-18, with a large sixth form of nearly 400 students. Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
* Direct line management of subject areas, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and achievement and the highest standards of Personal Development, Behaviour and attitudes are maintained and driven forward
* Leading in the monitoring, evaluation and review of standards, provision and pastoral care and of attendance and punctuality within the subject areas
* Playing a leading and highly visible role in the day-to-day management of the faculty, ensuring pastoral and academic success
* Leading on the staffing and organisation of thematic days in the subject areas
* Overseeing the strategic management of data, assessment and target setting
* Establishing successful raising achievement plans and intervention programmes for Year 11/12/13 within the subject areas
* Establishing a range of successful intervention programmes to close the gap, with particular focus on specific groups of students, including SEN, PPG and CLA

Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:
* QTS (or equivalent) and a good undergraduate degree
* At least four years teaching experience, with a minimum of two at subject leadership level
* Substantial and recent teaching experience
* Proven success in raising achievement as a subject leader across at least two key stages
* Teaching experience in key stages 3, 4 and 5 (or equivalent)
* Evidence of outstanding teaching and learning
* The ability to use ICT effectively to engage students
* An understanding of how to use assessment to inform planning for good teaching and learning
* The ability to differentiate materials to meet the needs of learners
* Evidence of pastoral experience
* Experience of being a form tutor
* The ability to offer an extra-curricular activity
