If you love meeting new people and want to support those affected by dementia in your area, then we would love to hear from you!
As a Group Support Volunteer, you’ll encourage people affected by dementia to engage in activities such as puzzles, quizzes and arts and crafts. A friendly face at the group, you’ll welcome and talk to people affected by dementia to help them feel comfortable and involved. You’ll also help set up and tidy away at the end of the group.
Your involvement in this role will ensure people affected by dementia are able to meet others in a similar situation, access the support and information they need and enjoy meaningful activities.
Where and when do I need to be available?
The group runs on the 3rd Wednesday morning of every month, and you would need to be available from 10:00am – 12:45pm.
We run from the Riverside Centre in Newport and go out to visit local attractions some months.
