About You:
We are looking for a passionate early years professional who is dedicated to providing exceptional care and education to our children. As a relief nursery assistant within our nursery, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and education. You will work with our existing team to create engaging activities that promote learning and development.
Applicants must have enthusiasm and a passion for working with children, and a desire to help them develop and become the best version of themselves.
As a Relief Nursery Practitioner, you will provide relief cover for staff annual leave, sickness, and other staff leave, working with all age groups (0-4 years old) across the nursery. Some shifts will be offered in advance, while others may be available at short notice. The flexible nature of this 0-hour role means that if you are offered a relief shift on a day when you have other commitments, you can simply decline the shift.
Start and finish times will vary, though shifts will typically start anytime between 07:30-09:00 am and end between 12:00-18:00 pm depending on cover needed.
Requirements/Responsibilities (but not limited to):
* Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification or equivalent (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education).
* Training in child protection and safeguarding children.
* Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations calmly.
* Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
* Fluency in written and spoken English.
* A positive and enthusiastic approach.
* Ability to contribute to creative activity planning.
* Ability to create and build positive relationships with the children, their families, and all colleagues, communicating well with everyone.
* Ability to work well within a team.
* Ability to ensure the environment is kept safe and clean throughout the day.
* Ability to keep accurate records.
* Ability to ensure compliance with all safeguarding procedures at all times.
* Applicants must be willing to attend and complete all essential training courses - Safeguarding, First Aid & Level 2 in Food Hygiene. These will be organized through your Manager, and you will be paid for your time spent on training.
* To comply with nursery policies and procedures and be aware of and work in accordance with relevant legislation at all times.
Experience:
* Previous experience working with young children preferred.
* Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
