Salary:
£14.81 per hour
This hourly rate includes a shift premium of £6.50 which is paid after completion of 7.5 hours work on this shift. This hourly rate also includes a discretionary bonus.
Shift/Days:
Monday to Friday, 14:00pm – 22:00pm (37.5 hours per week).
Role outline:
TruFrame is the largest independent manufacturer of uPVC windows and doors in the UK. Drawing on over twenty years’ experience in the industry we are a fast-growing and ever-evolving business, who are looking for someone to come and join us.
The Material Handler will primarily operate a forklift to facilitate the movement of materials within our facility, ensuring timely delivery to production areas and efficient stock replenishment.
Reporting to the Material Handling Supervisor, this role involves collaborating closely with a team of Material Handlers to maintain optimal inventory levels and support the smooth functioning of our operations.
The role will involve significant manual handling, operation of counterbalance and side-loader forklift trucks as well as a range of machinery and handling equipment. In addition, a variety of other duties and projects will be involved, such as Continuous Improvement and Health & Safety activities, or assisting with deliveries/collections to customers & suppliers premises.
The role is varied in that it will provide a comprehensive service across the business to ensure that the Purchasing Department’s objectives are met in line with the business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Check and maintain stock levels in production areas
* Ensure Inspection and Maintenance Checklists for equipment is completed to a high standard
* Complete quarterly and yearly stock takes
* Manage the receiving process for deliveries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
* Collect and recycle all production waste materials and scrap
* Recycle all production off-cut material back to its correct location
* Manage housekeeping of indoor and outdoor storage areas
* Provide the correct glass units and panels to the Logistics Department for loading
* Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
* Assist the Material Handling Supervisor in meeting departmental and Company objectives
* Operate a Forklift / Side loader to safely and efficiently transport materials throughout the site, including loading and unloading vehicles
* Receive, unload, sort and distribute all ‘bought-in’ products e.g. Glass, panels, composite doors and shaped frames
Person specification:
* FLT licence, counterbalance and/or side-loader (essential)
* Full UK driving license
* Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse operation
* Experience of manual handling operations
* Good standard of written English and numeracy
* Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues
* Effective team member who is both flexible and dependable
* Approachable personality and positive nature
* Ability to work with minimum supervision
* Ability to effectively multitask and prioritise work
