Organised and enthusiastic Stores Controller / Workshop Coordinator required to oversee all aspects of inventory management and record keeping within a busy engineering environment.
Our client has been established for more than 30 years and is renowned as a market leader in the provision of innovative and bespoke integrated systems, primarily to the transportation, airport and power infrastructure industry, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and organised Stores Controller / Workshop Coordinator in this newly created role to complement their established and successful team.
Based in prestigious offices in Derby, the successful candidate will literally be at the heart of the business operation, liaising closely with all departments to both create and implement new and effective processes in order to ensure that all items are in the correct location, and that the flow of goods from receipt and storage through to allocation and distribution is a seamless operation, and you will also undertake meticulous inspection of goods and equipment as well as basic office maintenance tasks to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained.
Core duties will include (but not be limited to):
1. Inbound and outbound goods handling.
2. Goods inwards checks and inspections to verify quality and condition of received parts and materials.
3. Allocating space in stores for goods received and maintaining accurate records.
4. Ensuring the stores area is kept in a suitable manner for access, storage and security.
5. Picking items from the stores and issuing them to the production team, and recording as required
6. Preparing and packing items for shipments to customers.
7. Signing in and out tools and equipment and maintaining associated accurate records of their usage and whereabouts.
8. Conducting regular inspections of equipment in order to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met.
9. Undertaking “Space management” of the Development Area to optimise resources.
10. Facilities and fleet maintenance as required.
To be considered for this genuinely varied and challenging opportunity where every day is different, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience gained in a similar role, with excellent organisational skills and communication skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory management. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills and be physically able to move stock and operate equipment such as pallet trucks (full training will be provided), and you will essentially hold a full UK manual driving license.
