Join us as a Technical Field Support Specialist We are looking to recruit a Technical Field Support Specialist to join our Team based in Coventry. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing full technical support to all the Branches. In their condition of 2nd level, the specialists of the technical support department are partners with the Service Technicians in the branches (1st level). In their condition of 2nd level, the specialists of the technical support department are also partners with the KG Level - Field Engineering Support as part of the FQE organization, they will also provide assistance to Installations and to the Service Leaders in case of complex NI, EI, MOD and even Repair jobs. They will also be responsible for Technical training development for Group and local products. The technical Field Support department is the 2nd (and highest in the KG) level of technical assistance to provide full support in NI, EI / MOD, and even Repairs (typically complex commissioning and start up) and also Service (typically very complex breakdowns). They will also act as a consulting department on technical issues when preparing very special offers (NI/MOD) where a very qualified technical opinion is needed. Duties & Responsibilities: Assist Schindler service technicians to solve complex technical issues. Timely and effective technical support strives for the lowest downtime periods and maximizes installation availability Answer phone calls from branch escalating complex issues where they have difficulties to get them solved Travel to site when the escalated issues can't be solved remotely Travel to site to help in the commissioning and start-up of complex projects, typically high rise projects, or complex equipment, like Miconic TX, Miconic-10, Schindler ID, Lobby Vision, e-vision, etc Support the field in the installation, commissioning and start-up of pre-series and/or 0-series from new products in introduction phase Provide Technical support to the sales force and service leaders when bidding for a complex NI/MOD job or a complex service contract which demands more than the usual know how in the sales force. The technical assistants may even attend the meetings with the customers in special cases, take on-site measurements, keep contact with the MDC/TRD/WIF to ensure proper clarifications to prepare a winning offer. Serve as a source of experience to the rest of the Technical & Field Support Organization to ensure they are used to feed the continuous improvement cycle Technical support to the sales force and the service leaders in complex installations and complex EI or MOD jobs respectively Support the sales force and service leaders in discussions with the customer (from a technical point of view) Support the sales force, by taking on-site measurements for complex installations Check specifications of complex NI or MOD tenders/contracts Communicate and collaborate with the MDCs and ensure the flow of information to (and from) the MDCs, so that they have all inputs needed to make an offer to the KGs Feed the Training Control System with inputs to allow Human Resources Training to monitor the Annual Plan and perform analysis of the effectiveness of the technical training Participate in 0-series field installations, and evaluate the provided processes, tools, etc Supports to Branches in optimize Top ten and sick units processes Inspect complex DLFI which do not require SAIS Inspect complex repairs which do not require SAIS Candidate Requirements: Extensive knowledge of Schindler Products and services, including interfaces. (PORT, Evision, Auto diallers etc) Thorough knowledge of Third-Party Products and interfaces. Expert knowledge in an EI / MOD environment Expert knowledge in a NI environment Competent in commissioning Expert in Fault finding and diagnosis Capable and competent in report writing Certified in Schindler technical discipline Preferable to be a Schindler Master Instructor on Schindler systems, sub systems and architecture Capable and confident to deliver technical training What’s in it for you?
