About the Role:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, integration, and implementation of advanced electric drive systems into a variety of customer applications. Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will take ownership of system development, technical specifications, and project delivery, ensuring high-quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop product solutions suitable for various customer systems, ensuring safety and compliance.
* Define system requirements, goals, and targets, ensuring smooth integration across motors, controllers, and software.
* Lead customer projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time, to cost, and to quality.
* Provide mentorship and coaching to system engineers, fostering professional development.
* Support international customer projects with occasional overseas travel.
* Implement continuous improvement processes, ensuring efficiency in system integration and testing.
* Maintain regulatory compliance with UK and international standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
* Degree or higher in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience in system engineering, requirements management, and change control.
* Strong understanding of CAN protocol and debugging.
* Experience in electric drive systems, battery management, and harness development.
* Strong mechanical background with a focus on safety and compliance.
* Project management experience, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
* Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MRP software.
* Full UK driving licence with ability to travel for business purposes.
Desirable:
* Chartered Engineer status.
* Experience in hybrid vehicle systems and conversion projects.
* Previous work in automotive, off-road vehicles, or drivetrain development.
