Job Description
We are seeking to recruit a dedicated Senior Social Worker to manage the Community Older People's Team within West Dunbartonshire HSCP. Community Health and Care Services within the HSCP are fully integrated. The Community Older Peoples Team consists of social work and health staff. The team offers services to individuals aged 65 years and over and their carers aiming to maximise individuals health and well-being and promote safety and independence through a co-ordinated multi- disciplinary / agency approach.
The integrated team works in line with the HSCP’s objectives to support individuals to remain residing at home or in a homely setting.
In this role you will manage and co-ordinate the delivery and development of Integrated Health and Social Work services. You will be responsible for the day to day professional management and supervision of social workers and social work assistants, ensuring accountable effective service delivery and performance development needs of staff.
The Senior Social Worker will work closely with other senior staff in health and social work and provide cross cover, allocate cases and provide advice and support to the wider integrated team within the HSCP. The post holder will be expected to participate in the day to day manager’s duty rota. The post holder will also be expected to oversee student placements in the team.
Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
