This is a great opportunity to join an industry leading engineering business that develops and manufactures high tech electronic products. Futures are looking for an experienced Technical Sales professional with experience in industry 4.0, IoT, automation, electronics or IT/Software solutions. This is an autonomous role where you will plan your own diary as required. There will be some time spent on the road meeting customers as and when required. The typical selling cycle is medium to long and there will be instances when you will be required to pitch for major projects. With that in mind, you should be confident at producing and delivering technical presentations in order to attain the larger contracts. You will be selling to business leaders so you need to be confident and able to hold your own in a technical sales role.
Technical Sales Manager – Role and Responsibilities
1. Establish and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers.
2. Communicate new product propositions to existing and prospective customers.
3. Plan, prepare and deliver responses (inclusive of presentations) to existing and prospective customers.
4. Maintain Customer Relationship Management database and produce a monthly sales report.
5. Promote and develop corporate image and reputation and contribute to overall business development plan.
6. Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions and provide the Managing Director with market activity feedback.
Technical Sales Manager – Skills and Abilities
1. Degree qualified (or equivalent) preferred.
2. Experience selling advanced technology and complex engineered systems to engineers.
3. Proven track record in a technical sales role within an engineering market sector. Often you’ll liaise directly with other engineers (and purchasing and leadership posts sometimes too).
4. Excellent proposal presentation skills.
5. Confident working in an autonomous role (you’ll get supported but will be relied on to be the self-starter the team needs).
6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues at all levels.
