We are looking for a proactive IT Systems Administrator to support and maintain our IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth business operations across networks, security, servers, and critical systems. This role provides first-line support and assists the IT Manager in implementing IT strategies and upgrades.

Your Role
As our IT Systems Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, including networks, security, servers, and business-critical systems. You will provide 1st line support and assist the IT Manager in planning and implementing IT strategies.
Working Hours and Location
This role is based at our site in Mere, Wiltshire, working Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:15 and Fridays 08:30 – 16:15, including a 45-minute lunch break. This totals 39 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
1. Administer and maintain the company’s network, servers, and cybersecurity measures to ensure stability and security
2. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
3. Implement and manage security protocols, including firewalls and antivirus software
4. Provide first-line IT support, managing the IT support ticketing system
5. Troubleshoot and maintain hardware, software, and IT equipment
6. Set up and manage user accounts, email systems, and permissions
7. Assist in IT procurement, contract management, and vendor relations
8. Support the IT Manager in planning and implementing IT projects and upgrades
9. Maintain IT documentation, reports, and disaster recovery plans.
Skills & Experience
1. Strong knowledge of networking, security, and server management
2. Hands-on experience with system configuration, maintenance, and support
3. In-depth knowledge of IT security best practices
4. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
5. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and virtualisation technologies.
