Duties:
The FLT Telehandler operator plays a key role on the construction site, responsible for safely moving, lifting, and distributing materials to support daily operations. Duties include:
Valid CPCS Card or NPORS Minimum 3 Years Experience
Material Handling & Transport: Safely lifting and moving materials such as pallets, blocks, bricks, cement, and steelwork to designated areas, including upper levels and hard-to-reach locations using the telescopic boom.
Loading & Unloading: Receiving and offloading deliveries, ensuring materials are stored or placed correctly across the site.
Attachment Use: Fitting and using appropriate attachments (e.g., forks, lifting jibs, buckets, sweepers) for various site tasks, ensuring secure and safe operation at all times.
Machine Checks & Maintenance: Carrying out daily pre-start checks, maintaining cleanliness of the machine, and reporting any faults or safety issues.
Safe Operation & Compliance: Operating in line with CPCS/NPORS training, site rules, and safety protocols including speed limits, exclusion zones, and lifting plans.
General Site Support: Assisting with traffic management, maintaining clear access routes, attending toolbox talks, and supporting overall site logistics as needed.
About you:
Valid Telehandler Certification CPCS or NPORS 3 Years Minimum Experience
Strong Understanding of Site Safety Awareness of lifting plans, exclusion zones, and safe load handling procedures.
Machine Operation Skills Confident and competent in operating telescopic handlers, including extending/retracting booms and using attachments.
Manual Handling & Load Awareness Ability to judge load weights, balance, and stability to prevent tipping or overloading.
Communication & Coordination Able to follow instructions and work closely with slingers/signallers, trades, and site management.
Good Spatial Awareness Capable of operating the machine safely in tight or congested areas with awareness of surroundings.
Basic Mechanical Knowledge Ability to carry out pre-use checks and identify/report machine faults promptly.
Teamwork & Flexibility Willing to support wider site activities and help maintain productivity across different tasks.
