Salt is working with a leading publisher, seeking a Web Manager to help manage the external developer agency, helping to drive digital growth and editorial vision.

* Immediate start, 2-day per week contract
* Circa £300 per day, outside IR35
* Fully remote working (must be in the UK)
* Circa 3+ month contract
Key responsibilities:
Project Management:
* Serve as the primary liaison between the company and external web development agency, managing the workflow to ensure projects are delivered on time/within scope
* Proactively identify and resolve issues, escalating quickly
Website Maintenance and Development:
* Oversee the ongoing management and optimisation of the website, ensuring it remains user-friendly, visually appealing, and aligned with the brand
* Collaborate with the developers to implement new features, troubleshoot issues, and improve site performance
* Ensure a mobile-first approach, in all aspects of web development, prioritizing responsive design and performance optimisation Ensure website updates follow best practices in UX/UI design, and adhere to accessibility standards
SEO and Content Activation
* Drive SEO strategy, including keyword research, metadata optimisation, and regular site audits
* Collaborate with the editorial team to optimise content and ensure best SEO practices are implemented
Content Management
* Build and publish content on the website using CMS tools, ensuring accuracy and quality control
* Maintain and improve site structure to ensure intuitive navigation and discoverability
You must have:
* Proven experience in website management and project management within a digital environment
* Strong knowledge of SEO principles
* Extensive experience with WordPress and React (Essential)
* Understanding of web development processes, including front-end and back-end concepts
* Experience in design and working with mobile-first websites, ensuring responsive and accessible user experiences
* Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical team members while collaborating seamlessly with developers
* Exceptional organization and communication skills
