PRODUCTION EXECUTIVE - DOCUMENTARIES (MATERNITY COVER)

We are looking for a Production Executive to join the team as maternity cover to work within our Documentaries department. The post would suit someone who has a strong background in working across a wide-ranging slate as well as budget writing, managing large teams and delivering programmes to different broadcasters and SVOD.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Working with the HoPs to help manage the slates of our Sport & Documentary departments.
2. Planning and contracting staff, directly managing PM’s and PC’s and mentoring junior members of the team. Actively seeking new junior and senior talent from diverse backgrounds.
3. Working alongside Business Affairs to ensure programmes and productions are compliant, including contracting staff, freelance and talent.
4. Budgeting, including constructing budgets for new clients and broadcasters, revising existing budgets and overseeing cost managers. Negotiating deals with new and returning clients and looking at new business opportunities.
5. Working alongside the Managing/Creative Directors, Heads of Productions, Executive Producers and Commercial Director to execute projects.
6. Overseeing risk assessments, staffing and post schedules, face to face client/broadcast liaison and facilitating client/broadcaster requests as needed. Working alongside Senior Producers to attend client meetings and be a key point of contact for projects.
7. Maintain the vision and ethos of Whisper and promote a positive working environment where production talent can grow and gain opportunities in the business.

Knowledge, skills & requirements:
1. Experience across a range of output, especially a strong background in Documentaries & Sport.
2. Confident working independently using own initiative while being prepared to take guidance on appropriate matters.
3. Excellent team player; organised and able to work quickly without losing attention to detail.
4. Ability to quickly access, prioritise and act with a creative and flexible outlook.
5. Integrity – able to look after the interests of the company while building effective working relationships with colleagues and outside contacts (including broadcasters and talent management) gaining their trust & respect.
6. Must be able to work effectively in a complex environment with diverse stakeholders including Head of Production, MDs and Senior Management.
7. Ability to effectively articulate complex issues in writing and verbally.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as a cooperative member of a team as well as interact with senior level executives and clients.
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location:
Kew, London but we are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work out of the Salford or Cardiff Office.
Working Days:
5 day week, x4 days in office and x1 day WFH. This role will require a degree of flexibility and weekend working. You will be expected to work with the team to plan a schedule based on production requirements. Lieu days will be given for any days worked over a five-day week.
Start/End:
March 2025 for 12 months maternity cover.
Salary:
Based on experience.
