Martin Robeson Planning Practice PA to Martin Robeson (Owner/Managing Director) Based near Charing Cross - Office Based £40,000 - £45,000 The business (MRPP) We are a highly respected professional services consultancy with its origins dating from 1994. We operate in the property sector advising a wide range of UK clients, from Tesco and major property development companies to high-net-worth individuals. We focus on providing town planning advice on complex and/or significant development propositions. The exceptional quality of our professional work drives our business. 95% of our instructions come from repeat business and through recommendations. We don't need to advertise or market ourselves. We have been described as "punching well above our weight", and our tailored approach to work as "The Savile Row of town planning consultancy". The firm's ethos has thus always been "provide the best advice, quickly and at reasonable cost". Exceptional professional work requires exceptional employees in every role within the business. Thus, after our clients, our ten employees are our greatest asset. Pivotal to ours is our support team. They play key roles in making our fee earners highly efficient, more productive and thus the business liquid and profitable. To ensure that we all perform to the best of our abilities, we support the mantra "a healthy mind in a healthy body". Our benefits package reflects this. We respect everyone, the communities they come from, and treat them all equally. The Role The top fee earner (and the company's MD) needs a new 1:1 PA. The role is primarily focused on client work. But there are important business management tasks too. This really is a 'right hand person' role. 100% of correspondence comes in and goes out via the PA. Thus, total inbox/outbox management. The philosophy is that you will be able to manage and create correspondence and documents much more efficiently than the fee earner ever could. Thus, exceptional face to face typing speeds and first-time accuracy is essential although an eye for proof reading is helpful too. Inherent to that is having close involvement with and building up knowledge of relevant projects, related client contact, helping to manage other consultants and getting the best out of our own professionals and their support staff. What we expect You are either looking to move up into a 1:1 PA role (perhaps from a Legal Secretary) or have no more than five years’ experience in a similar business and/or role. Solid educational background, but not necessarily to degree level. Confident but friendly demeanour - someone who clients and others will inevitably find helpful. Excellent memory. Love of seeing words used creatively. Ability to juggle numerous tasks simultaneously with a desire to complete them all Expertise in getting the best out of Microsoft Office 365 Fast face to face typing speed and accuracy (70wpm). Some flexibility around working hours as projects demand. Ability to inspire other support staff to operate beyond "good". Pride in your work.
