Our client is seeking to appoint a Transport Operator to join their distribution team. This role requires effective work alongside customers and drivers to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Applicants with extensive geographical knowledge of South East England and a solid understanding of transport legislation, including driver hours, vehicle specifications, weights, and capacity, are highly encouraged to apply.
Main Purpose of the Role
To efficiently and safely transport goods in compliance with company protocols and legal requirements, including Health & Safety standards, while meeting customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Documentation Management: Prepare all required documentation to support warehouse activities, ensuring cargo is loaded and unloaded promptly.
2. Administrative Duties: Manage invoicing, filing, claims, queries, and cost evaluations as needed by the department.
3. Communication: Build and maintain productive relationships with customers, drivers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
4. Route Coordination: Assist in planning and adjusting distribution schedules and vehicle assignments.
5. Fleet Utilization: Ensure the efficient use of the company’s vehicle resources.
6. Reporting: Develop and maintain necessary reports or key performance indicators (KPIs).

Hours & Flexibility
Core hours: 08:00 – 17:00. The role occasionally requires covering early and late shifts (on a rotational basis), primarily during staff absences 5 weeks annually.
