Making animals’ lives better makes life better – join our team today Position Description : Member of Mechanical Craft team, responsible for the lubrication of all mechanical assets on site. Ensuring that lubricants meet cGMP and that allows our business objectives to be met. This involves working without supervision at times. To be responsible, performance monitoring and maintenance of equipment and for sharing knowledge and coaching other team members. Functions, Duties, Tasks EHS: Ensure activities of self and other team members are such as to meet all health, safety and environmental requirements. Incidents must be reported, and where appropriate, investigated and acted upon immediately. Maintain housekeeping necessary to ensure a safe, clean working environment compliant with site health and safety, environmental and occupational hygiene requirements. Lubrication Management: Perform day-to-day lubrication schedules across all operational and support areas as per the schedule. Maintain the schedule to track and report issues identified such as Leaks, contaminated oil etc. Manage stock of Lubrication materials; Oil, Grease etc to ensure stock available to ensure reliable operation of assets. Identify any potential deviations and determine/take appropriate actions. Manage the Food Grade Lubricants reports to support Quality team and ensure data available for Audits, deviation investigations etc. Maintenance: Support the day-to-day activities of the Mechanical Craft team in repairs and fault finding. Carry out Non-intrusive Inspection PM tasks, and condition monitoring as required. This includes identifying any associated deviations and determining/taking the appropriate corrective actions. Assist in the identification of optimum time scales for Lubrication PMs, the execution of PM procedures and completion of any required documentation and/or computer system data entry. Review and utilise historical data on equipment from sources such as in CMMS, plant logs, archives and that held by other team members, to optimise equipment performance and maintenance. Analytical: As required, sample Lubricants, within EHS & cGMP requirements, arrange for analysis by professional bodies, report back to supervisor or Reliability on findings. As required, sample and/or test and arrange for the safe and regulatory compliant disposal of waste. Documentation: Support the development of Speke Lubrication database and maintain this documentation as required for cGMP, support SOP generation and review, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities Own the Lubrication schedule and tracking reports. Promptly report incidents and potential deviations. Make appropriate entries into CMMS and such other records as may be requested by management from time to time. Performance Management and Continuous Learning: Consistently participate in Performance Management processes as appropriate with regard to the setting of objectives and the development and implementation of a personal development plan. Take part in all training initiatives raised by the Company. This will include cross-skill training, IT skills, personal development and such other skill additions as may be deemed necessary by management to improve competence in a dynamic environment. Proactively seek opportunities for self-development and the simultaneous growth of the Company Process Improvement and Problem Solving: Co-operate with all team members in the improvement of Maintenance tasks and working practises. Work with other team members and, when appropriate, support personnel to resolve issues using root cause analysis. Coach other team members in the application of such improvements. Optimise PM methods and frequencies – progressing predictive rather than preventative methods. Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications): Ideally the Job holder would have completed a recognised apprenticeship and obtained a NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or Lubrication. Additional Preferences: If No formal qualifications individual should be willing to undertake training No appropriate NVQ, supported by the site, team and co-workers to upskill to be able to undertake non-intrusive PM’s such as, but not limited to: Bund Inspections, Pump visual Inspections.
