Job Description: At Gregory Distribution, we are currently seeking a Transport Planner in our Doncaster depot. This position will be working within the transport team and will involve all aspect of the transport administration processes and coordination of the day to day running of this busy contract.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and organise the activities of our Transport Operation, ensuring seamless nationwide deliveries and collections.
2. Coordinate loads using our state-of-the-art fleet of articulated vehicles.
3. Ensure timely deliveries and collections while meticulously monitoring KPIs for on-time delivery, shift revenue, and vehicle utilisation.
4. Manage and debrief drivers regularly, fostering a supportive and efficient team environment.
5. Collaborate with the warehouse and on-site shunter to ensure trailers and vehicles are always ready when needed.
6. Oversee vehicle checks and defects using the latest Vehicle Check App, ensuring safety and compliance.
7. Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers, providing clear and timely updates on collection times and delivery bookings.
8. Meet regularly with Line Managers to discuss and implement strategies for operational excellence.
9. Identify and develop new opportunities to add value to our contracts, driving continuous improvement.
10. Ensure all contracted work is meticulously booked through our internal systems and aligns perfectly with customer expectations.
11. Achieve daily revenue KPI targets and provide insightful reports to the Transport Manager weekly.
12. Maintain and monitor TMS systems related to contracted deliveries, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
13. Perform general administrative duties, including filing, photocopying, and data input, with precision and attention to detail.
14. Adhere to policies and procedures within the Business Area, upholding our high standards of operation.
Requirements:
15. Experience of planning in the logistic industry is advantageous.
16. Ability to communicate at all levels.
17. Strong geographical knowledge of the UK.
18. Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
19. Attention to detail.
20. Working to deadlines.
21. Solution driven and Flexible approach to your work.
22. Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
23. MS packages to include, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
