Main duties of the job
The Practitioner Psychologist will be responsible for conducting individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, and multidisciplinary team working. They will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and design and deliver training. The role requires experience in carrying a service user's caseload, assessing complex needs, and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments. The successful candidate will have HCPC registration, Chartered Psychologist status, and appropriate post-graduate qualifications.
Job responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working, and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.
As a Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user’s caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.
As a Psychologist you will be:
* Participating in the assessment of referrals, and providing initial assessment for service users referred to the service.
* Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
* Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertaking the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods.
* Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients’ mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice.
* Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
* Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and Company Policies and Procedures.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* BPS recognised psychology degrees
* HCPC registration
* Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications
* Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
* Experience of applying psychological knowledge to a clinical setting
* Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits
* Previous experience of conducting research and project working
