An opportunity to play your part – Join Hive at Centrica as a Senior DevOps Engineer and be at the heart of the Net Zero revolution. This role places you within a dynamic team dedicated to crafting state-of-the-art IoT solutions that enable sustainable choices for over 2 million customers. Your work will not only involve advanced technology but also have a tangible impact on environmental sustainability. You'll contribute to shaping the future of energy, working on innovative projects involving solar energy, batteries, air source heat pumps, EV charging, and smart home systems.

The day to day –
* Engage in agile collaboration with a dynamic and highly skilled team to drive project success.
* Spearhead the development of support for new devices and device types, expanding the company's technological reach.
* Take charge of third-party integrations, ensuring seamless connectivity and extended functionality.
* Conduct thorough functionality reviews to enhance performance and user experience.
* Design and maintain a comprehensive suite of automated tests to guarantee system integrity and robustness.
* Oversee operational excellence by monitoring system logs and metrics, securing continuous delivery of value to customers.
* Deliver projects punctually, ensuring full functionality, optimal performance, and minimal issues.
* Craft robust, reliable, and reusable solutions that stand the test of time and use.
* Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues and foster new developments, ensuring cohesive team alignment and API integration.
* Utilise object-oriented programming expertise to contribute to multi-threaded development and design pattern implementation.
* Innovate with serverless cloud solutions, building cost-effective and highly reliable services on AWS's managed serverless technologies.
About You -
* Adept at integrating front-end assets with AWS services for enhanced web performance and scalability.
* Experienced with Kotlin or Go programming languages.
* Skilled in version control systems, preferably Git.
* Knowledgeable in various test frameworks and testing methodologies.
* Agile methodology adept, with experience in agile project management.
* Capable of designing robust and scalable system architectures.
* Well-versed in Linux environments and cloud computing platforms.
* Operational expertise with a DevOps mindset, endorsing the "you build it, you run it" philosophy.
* Holds a degree in a relevant field or possesses equivalent practical experience.
* At least 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
